On January 26, 1987 a STAR was born…..Dre Bowie. Dre was born to the proud parents Cheyenne and Melvin Butler in Los Angeles, CA. At an early age Dre knew he wanted to be an Actor/Model and Basketball Player. He moved to Pittsburgh, PA at an early age. Already committed to the achievement of his dreams and also inspired by Actor Chris Tucker, Model Tyson Beckford and Basketball Star Kobe Bryant. Dre pursued and was cast in numerous rolls for local Pittsburgh productions. Dre also discovered he had a passion for basketball, which he pursued aggressively earning him significant recognition, awards and trophies for his on-court performance.

In 2000, at the age of 14, Dre returned to Los Angeles. He maintained his B-boy status with North Hollywood High Huskies and also began actively pursuing his acting and modeling career. What initially began as a “what if” possibility became a genuine stepping stone in Dre’s career when he auditioned for and was cast in the Janet Jackson’s 2003 “I Want You” video. Dre knew he had found his niche and decided to make acting his career. His career has continuously escalated, making him indeed one of today’s brightest rising stars in Hollywood.

With his performance in Janet Jackson’s video under his belt, Dre has pursued and was cast in diverse projects such as Noggin’s reality dating show, “Best Friends Date” and in “Kids Across America” promoting Nicole Richie’s film in an MTV commercial. His B-boy status changed to rising star, booking almost everything in his path. In addition he was approached by the Bravo Channel to do a reality show named “Kids Sports” and approached by MTV to do a reality show similar to “Sweet Sixteen” entitled “Coming of Age” However, Dre had to turn down some opportunities because he was playing in a Basketball tournament in Hawaii.

He has also been cast in two major studio productions, including Paramount Pictures “Freedom Writers”, which considers the significant milestone to date in his career. His role in this film afforded him the opportunity to work with acclaimed Director Richard LaGravenese, two-time Oscar winner Actress Hillary Swank and Grammy nominated recording artist Mario. Dre was also cast in “Gridiron Gang”, released by Columbia Studios, in which he worked with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Xzibit.

In addition to several Independent films, an Episode of MTV’s favorite dating show “NEXT”. A new documentary on MTV called “Juvies” and several Music Videos; Busta Rhymes featuring Rick James “Ghetto”, Disney’s new artist Jordon Pruitt “Outside Looking In” and Leela James “Good Life” just to name a few. Dre also has quite an impressive print-modeling portfolio. A video game for PSP, Xbox and PlayStation entitled “PIMP MY RIDE” with Xzibit. A Nike campaign “Team Elite” that is in several sports and hip hop magazines. One of his most recent modeling project included working directly with Oscar winning Actor George Clooney in a photo shoot for Esquire Magazine.

Dre acknowledges the importance of professional training to help him successfully achieve his career goals. To further hone his craft, he is currently studying with Oscar nominated and Golden Globe winner Sally Kirkland.

Despite his focus on acting and dynamic pursuit of Movie Stardom, Dre is a very fun-loving young man. He values family and always makes time for his mom Cheyenne, his half-sister Keiuana Butler and his half-brother Melvin Butler, Jr. Dre loves devoting time with his favorite cousins, Marqcuss Butler, Nikki Butler, Chase Farmer, Brandy Fitzgerald and Dione Fitzgerald. He believes in good friends as well who are Kemaney, Kenny, Lee, TC and Miguel. His mom has instilled this quote in his life daily “Actors go hungry but…Movie Star has EVERYTHING!!!!”
